The Ebolavirus vaccine trade name for rVSV-ZEBOV. This vaccine is a recombinant form of Vesicular Stomatitis Virus which has had its spike protein RNA code replaced with the Ebolavirus spike protein code. Therefore, it is a viral vector mRNA vaccine.

mRNA vaccines can either be recombined into the genetic code of the viral vector, like ERVEBO, or encased as mRNA alone in a synthesized lipid coating. The vector virus and the lipid coated mRNA both get absorbed into the host cell to produce Ebolavirus spike proteins.
